Approaches to Therapy

Activities, such as sports and art, are an incredible way for people with cerebral palsy to develop new skills and and newfound confidence.

Sports such as cycling, swimming and dancing are just brilliant for developing motor skills. Additionally sports help build self-esteem and a sense of achievement. These things are essential to any individual being able to live a happy and fulfilling life.

All manner of creative activities are excellent for developing fine motor skills- as well as being fun and rewarding! Painting, sculpting and drawing all create a space in which individuals with cerebral palsy can grow and express themselves.

Recreation therapy is a treatment that helps children with cerebral palsy develop and expand physical and cognitive capabilities while participating in recreational activities. Specialized tools can be implemented in order to assist and evolve motor skills. These therapies can also focus around dancing! Adapted dance is extremely beneficial as it  improves flexibility, strength, balance, and other physical measures- as well as just being a good time!
